Planning Permission, Old Cottages and Irish
Dreams
The
Dream
Picture yourself in your lovely
Irish cottage, looking out over green fields and stony field
walls. Your sea view is, of course, tremendous. The mountainy
hills rising behind your cottage are dotted with sheep. And isn't
that your neighbours, the Murphy's, coming up the lane for a
chat and a spot of tay? Of course they're welcome... along with
the happily envious guests arriving to use your extra rooms for
a bit of bread and breakfast that will pay for it all.
The Reality
A lovely picture, that. And one shared by tens
of thousands of displaced Irish wanna-be's. And it could actually be reality
once you clear two wee hurdles - money and planning permission.
